Pop up question

i am learning flash 8.0 as we speak and i need to learn how to create a pop up window. its a portfolio site that includes images and small movies. i’d like to have these quicktimes play in a seperate browser window that fits it correctly. i’ve been looking around and have seen a few methods that do not require any javascripting within the html files. are these legit? has anyone used any of these methods? help me out with any proven ways that you know of. thanks a ****load.
