Hey everyone,
I received e-mail from a site, aids-awareness.org, wondering if it would be possible for me to host a contest. The contest is where users create a flash intro or some other collection of graphics that are aids-related for their site. The owner of the site said she will take care of providing the prizes.
Do you all think that it is proper for this site to promote a contest that will be hosted here, but primarily benefit another site? At first I was against the idea, but since this is for a good cause such as AIDS awareness, I am wondering what you all think about this contest idea?

Lets do it. But you should ask that they provide some kind of proof they are a legit organiztion. Maybe a non-profit number or something. So many frauds going around. I would hate to have someones design generate thousands of dollars and clickthrus only to have some geeky dude in the background stealing the money.
I had that same concern also. She replied and said that they are in the process of getting the organization registered as a 501c3 corporation. I have not yet looked into what that is, but it sure as heck sounded cool
More than likely, the theme will be about AIDS in general, and the site’s name does not have to appear. I am nowhere near getting the details worked out, for it won’t be until the current contest concludes before I worry about that
