Possible to minimize a flash movie?

Hi there,

We have a bit of a problem. We’re running a SWF in an electronic device that is running Linux X (of which I know nothing). There is no browser. After the user interacts with the SWF, we need to minimize it - and then later maximize it.

I’ve googled this in vain and searched lots of flash forums with no luck. I only get vague suggestions that you might need a third party tool. Is it at all possible to use some kind of AS to minimize the swf - and then maximize it later?

It can be done any way that allows the user to interact with what is behind the swf. The only way the electronic device can communicate with the SWF is to send it an XML file.

Any ideas?

I don’t know of any way to change the runtime size of a SWF without some sort of browser support. Is it ‘embedded’ in any fashion? Can you use transparency to fake this effect?

Transparency might work except that you’d need to be able to access what is behind the SWF on certain devices that might have touchscreen functionality - I believe the transparent SWF would compromise that.

I don’t think it’s embedded, but I will ask. From what I understand they kind of call it as an executible or somesuch and it runs.
