Preload Newb Question

Hi guys I’m just starting to get into flashmx and have a question reffering to a tutorial http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash5/preloader.asp

I was able to use that same .fla to test, but on adding these lines to my .fla which is almost done, it doesn’t work. I notice the lilttle flag on frame 6 I believe, but in the tutorial it doesn’t say how or why it’s there. I’m sure it’s needed but how to I flag the frame that will kik off the “sound” layer as it is in that tutorial.

after following what I’ve read I get this error:

Scene=Scene 1, Layer=preloader, Frame=1: Line 1: Clip events are permitted only for movie clip instances
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {

I know I’m new to flash, but the tutorials or not explaing enough for a newb =(

That error was given because you placed a movie clip event on a frame, when it is only permitted on movie clips. I will have to make note to kirupa to be more precise by that in the tutorial. Does that help at all?

Somewhat, I’ll have to get more into the program to understand things that are nessasary, tutorials help if there pretty clear thx for the post tho.
