would somebody please give me simple preloading code that works. I am new to flash so please help me
Do you need to dislpay information about how much data has loaded, or just a preloader that is blank?

You could try some sites like www.flashcomponents.com where you can download a preloader component, then drag it onto the Stage and customise to your own wishes.
