Okay so I’m taking my first stab at creating my own component, and I’ve run across an odd problem. I exported a .SWC file and placed it in the Flash MX Components (“Flash MX 2004\en\Configuration\Components”) folder. The component shows up fine in the Components tab in flash. The problem is, whever I try and drag an instance of that Component to the stage it starts trying to run the code. Before I ever test the movie or anything it starts running while I’m still in the authoring environment. I don’t have live preview on. Is this normal or is there some trick I’m missing to creating custom components? Any advice or links are appreciated.
