Problem with getURL and Popup Blockers

Searched for this, didn’t find anything.

So, I’ve got this site I’m working on for a band, and the main site is all flash, one file. But I have a photo gallery and a message board that are not flash, that go along with the site.

I want the Photo gallery and message board page to open up in a new browser. So I used the getURL (“http://www.site.com/gallery/”, “_blank”), which works for some computers, but the popup blockers on most computers detect it as a pop-up, and stop it from opening.

Any Ideas?

I think the only solution here is to warn the user that some features of your site might require popups, Im sure there are workarounds but they will only serve to upset viewers…
