Problems with emulating this text effect

Hello guys,

     I am kinda new here (to the whole flash community i mean). I have been trying to emulate the text effect I have seen on one site (http://[www.nbd-future.com) I asked one of my friends for help. He some how managed to decompile the whole flash thingy and remove the text effect part. But that didn't help much since I can't get it right even now. If some one would be kind enough to look at it and tell me the right way to it or point me to a sample or something I would be eternally grateful.

if you mean the text which changes character, these were my attempts at it, the latter ones more successful.
