Problems with loading Flash Movies

Hi I am newbie here. Hope u guys(expertz) out there can share your knowledge. I have problem here with dreamweaver. I can’t see the flash movie when browse in the browser. How can i solve it? Pls give guidance.

Hi aynneo,

Welcome to Kirupa.

A few things to consider.

  1. While working in Dreamweaver, my experience is that you insert the Flash file into a table for instance, you will not be able to see the Flash. It just looks like a grey box. However, when you publish the file by pressing F12 I believe you will see it.

  2. Make sure the Flash file is in the same directory folder as your html file you are working on.

Thx for your infomation. I tried it and it works, but i tried the News Flasher and insert it to dreamweaver, i still cannot see it in the browser. And i have a question to ask you is that is the alignment in the dreamweaver correspond to the browser? I insert a pic in the dreamweaver an preview in the browser, they doesn’t align the way it is shown in the dreamweaver. I would like to know whether it is like that or i do it in the wrong way.

Not sure about the News Flasher. I’ve never used that feature.

The reason your images or content keeps moving on you is because of the settings you use for width or height or your tables. This is one of the important things to learn about html code.

If you enter fixed widths or heights in pixels the table cells will not grow or shrink. This is especially helpful when you are using background graphics or fills in your table cells that you want to stay constant.

If you use percentages the table cells will grow according to the percentage values you enter. Percentages are great because they give you the flexibility of centering objects/pics/flash on your web page regardless of the end users resolution or how big they size the window.

You will need to experiment with the fixed widths and percentage values to get your desired results.
