I just need someone to point me in the right direction:
On this website I am building, the user will be able to select from some 25 different search categories using drop-down lists, buttons, and text entry fields. Once he is all done configuring his search, he will hit a “send” or “go” button to query the database.
Pretty standard stuff, I guess, but I don’t know where to start. I can get as far as creating the buttons and all that, but the rest… ??
I have the book “AJAX and PHP - Building Responsive Web Applications” which has directed me to XAMPP at http://www.apachefriends.org. I installed and configured XAMPP on my computer but haven’t gotten any further, as learning AJAX has had to take a back seat to getting this Flash website finished.
Am I going in the right direction? Can I use XAMPP as my web server? If so, then where do I go from here? I read the sticky on this forum, but I’m not sure which of the links would be helpful to me. The one that looked promising, http://www.phpforflash.com/, turned out to be a dud.
Thanks!
