I’ve been fiddling with Flash and AS for a while now, but one (big) thing has always left me stumped.
Basically, in this game I’m working on, there will be three or four major game screens or modes: World map, battles, towns, and events (like cinematics and such).
So what I’m wondering is, how would I structure the flow of the game. Should I use the frames to block out my different modes? Would a battle just be a big function? If I don’t use frames, what would be the best way to display game art, and be able to switch screens between the modes?
Hopefully someone out there can shed any light on this matter for me. Or if anyone knows of any good books or links that might help, that’d be great too. Don’t be afraid of talking over my head, if I don’t understand… I’ll Google it… Or ask you.
Thanks!
