Question for all people who's alias starts with "electrongeek"

Hey electro, or mby someone else who uses cinema 4d, I have a prob with making textures for human faces and them being distorted ot slightly stretched horizantally. Is there any way cinema 4d can tell me what size to make the image so that it looks perfect. I tryed to resize the shape of the head but that only makes the head look weird. I am trying to make a knight without a face. Kinda like the dark riders in Lord of the Rings…
Please help

Wow you definitely asked me a hard question and not easy to explain on a forum, but I’ll try my best to simplify it as much as possible.

The easiest way that I know of to create accurate textures is to create a grid texture that is numbered so you can map out where to place colors in Photoshop.

Basically you create a large grid with numbers and apply this grid texture on your model. Once the grid shows up, you can use it as a guide to plot out where colors should be while working in Photoshop.

Once you’re done applying colors to the grid template in Photoshop, just apply it to your model.

I attached an image that I scanned from my C4D book to help you better undertand what I’m talking about. Sorry about the quality, my scanner sucks. :-\

Thank you very much electro. I will try this method out. I will post later if I have any more questions.
