So I don’t have anything to showcase, but I have a question about future showcases.
I’m a freelance designer working with a company in CA. I’m thinking about going out and finding more of my own work where I have a little more contact with the client and control over where a design is going.
My question is…how do you all go about approaching possible new clients? I have done some research on the web of businesses around this area who I believe need new websites (some are just horrid), BUT what’s the best way to approach these possible clients? Do I take a portfolio? Do I take them comps of what their site may look like? What do you say to these people that won’t put them off and to ensure that you get their interest? What questions do I ask?
Then, down the road, I’ll post some new work for showcase feedback.
