Hello! 
I found this really cool website and desperately want to know how this person animated the mouse trail in the very beginning (“click”).

I looked around a bunch of tutorials and found similar effects but not this complex. Especially how the trail is random and so smooth.
Any ideas or information will help. Thanks!
