QuickTime for the web problems

I have a couple qustions about quicktime for the web. I need to get a ten minuet QT movie posted. The file size should be reasonable so any one can view it.

  1. How do I make a QT movie play in a browser like the movie trailers at quicktime.com. I want a background image for the web page plus a progress time line, play controls, play as it is loading, ect.

OR

  1. Is there a tutorial or can someone tell me how to load an external QT movie into a flash movie. I want it to play as it is loading, show a progress time line, and have play controls. (More importantly I would rather do number 1, because it seems more unversal/easy)

AND

  1. What is a codec/compression to use for QT. I need it be universal, good quality, and a reasonable file size. Right now I am already familar with Sorensen and a couple a audio options, but the file size seems bigger then other movies I have seen on the web and quality is low.

Thank you very much for any help.

well to do that first one you just make an html webpage and have a spot to plop your quicktime in, then you put quicktime in your html page…not really a flash thing. i think sorenson compresses marvelously and quicktime is pretty universal…if you compress with sorenson make sure you tweak your ouput setting to streaming instead of hinted or non streaming.

I try to drag and drop the QT movie into a page in Dreamweaver and it keeps saying “failed to open document”. I am very frustrated!

As for the streaming thing, I have not tried it yet, but it sounds like it should work. Thanks.

Any other feed back is greatly appreciated!

try using HAND CODING do a google search for embedding quicktime
