Random movement that stops- mask

Not sure if this is the best place to post this thread, but…

I’m looking for a way to have a mask randomly reveal a photo I have… by using square shapes (or any random shapes, i guess)… but like… the shapes do random moving things as they reveal parts of the photo.

Does that make any sense? I know it’s do-able… I just don’t know how to do it!! I’m trying to look for pretty cool special effects, but I’m not succeeding.

It didn’t work, sir.
I think I’m just going to try something else.

It didn’t work because it’s not what you want, or does it just NOT work?

I couldn’t get it to work. Then again, I’m a crack-addict… so yeah. (not really)

what I did was put my picture in a movie clip, and put a graphic of a circle that had a height and width of 100 both ways… and I put that above the picture, in its own layer… and I applied the actions you gave me, to the frame in which the circle existed… because it told me that I couldn’t apply actions to the graphic… and I made the circle into a mask. Put that movie clip onto the main stage… and I got a circle revealing only part of my image. nothing moved.

is that confusing? am I retarded? most likely.

I suppose you turned the circle into a mask directly with the layers of your movie. That won’t work. You have to use setMask.
