Random movie clip help

Hi! I want to create an underwater scene with bubbles. I have created a movie clip called “bubble”. How do I make that movie clip randomly appear and then diappear at different positions in my movie? Also, is it possible to make the bubble randomly appear in more than 1 place at a time? Thanks for the help!

you mean like this?

(yes, in my world bubbles are square…)

Hi,
Nice one zylum - have a look at this one - in my world bubbles are round ( lol!!!)
Awhile ago I found a Flash 4 file with a single bubble in it and movement generated by a tween - I kept it(for the graphivcs) converted to MX and added the movement and duplication that you see, and lo and behold I found a client who wanted a site with bubbles !
If you can use it wicious, please do, hope it helps

ooooooooooooooppppps !!! forgot to upload it - here you go

why are there four different levels for such a simple fla? the script is so hard to find, some is in the second and some is in the fourth. i prefer to keep all the code in the actions layer in the main/root timeline too keep it nice and simple, especially if sharing the script with others so that they don’t have to go looking for it. i have done the same effect WITH continous motion (really just roll over or whatever) instead of having the bubbles fly off into nothingness,(eventualy overloading the processor with huge numbers form the coordinates of the bubbles) any ways, heres the fla if your interesed…

ps, bubbles are square! it’s physically impossible for spherical bubbles to exist in nature!!!

lol

Hi zylum
You may prefer to keep the code on the main timeline, but in thids particuler case the bubbles are fired by an action elsewhere in the movie that i took the trouble to remove so as not to confuse others. I was actually trying to help someone else and didn’t really expect such criticism (lol!!!)

I have never seen a square bubble and the the company I did the site for would not have been impressed as in the marine fish shop they own there is not a square bubble in site !!!

that may explain things. it made it a bit confusing for me but i understand that people have there preferences.

anyways, due to the second law of elasticity and the counteracting force of inverted centripital force, and the force of the moons gravity counterimposing on the earth’s… ahhh nevermind… you wouldn’t understand anyways…

Thanks for the help! Both of you sent me exactly what I needed. And the square bubbles were a nice touch!
