Referal post URL data to Flash

Anyone know a good way to read data from the referal URL, into flash?

For example, I would like my .swf to read “id=457” from:

www.myexampleflashsite.com/content.html?id=457

is this a php thing?

Theres a way to do it. But unforutunately i don’t know. Somebody should enlighten you here.

I’ve found this http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?event=view&id=KC.tn_16417&extid=tn_16417&dialogID=113734839&iterationID=1&sessionID=4830e0e37b97521a2b2b&stateID=0+0+28376457&mode=simple

which allows variables to be passed through the EMBED and OBJECT tags, but not through the URL. I can think of someway of using this to orchestrate the HTML on the fly, from a php script that recieves the vars via URL, but this is hardly ideal.

any other ideas?!?

Found a solution that just uses Javascript http://www.noscope.com/journal/2003/12/query_string

Works great so far.
