Well then gosh! why not say that in the first place!! shucks!
my point still stands, until Sony can rival itune’s user base, they’re going to fail

[ot]Blockbuster is probably the biggest rip you can find out there. They price their rentals almost a full two dollars over what our store does.[/ot]
Yea but does your store have no late fees?

The point falls upon Sony opening to allow free HD Streaming like whats on YouTube now but with HD streaming, theres a niche for the next YouHD wannabes.
I agree with you that iTunes has a bigger user base and I like the quality of the trailers they offer, but I think they are being gay making people pay for the service, should be a subscription if anything and it should support HD Streaming. Are the videos like Quicktime Trailer Quality at fake 1080p? If yes I might consider using it, as QuickTime trailers are awesome
yes, they wouldn’t make you pay 3.99 to watch a terrible low quality rip
they are fake-HD
are you talking about blockbuster now or itunes? My blockbuster has late fees.
Can I download them mate? Always wanted to see the C builds of Apple but lot of there librarys of iTunes use digital encryption plus cant be bothered. Is there a way to rip it from iTunes. There a loads of ways from QuickTime trailers so essentially iTunes must connect to a mov file or live mov file. Fantastic though your winning me around, shame the don’t have Watch Preview feature or trailer with each film, that would be cool
I was talking about blockbuster, and I’m ~fairly~ certain they are still late-fee-less where I live…
@k77: What happens is, when you click “rent” it asks for confirmation, and then starts the download into your itunes. I’m getting fairly decent speeds too, ~700kb/s
You can start watching the movie as it is downloading, but you have to allow for some buffering.
Once you start watching, a dialogue pops up and says “are you sure you want to start watching this movie now? you will have 48 hours to finish watching it”
After 48 hours it will disappear
You can watch them as much as you want within that 48 hour time period.
As of now, i’m not sure of any way to rip them as they are definitely DRM’d up the wazoo
Right click, click properties. What URL or path in My Documents?
DRM can be remcoughoved.

We don’t have a “My Documents” on a Mac
And whatever you are thinking would not work. Removing DRM isn’t that easy.
They exist in your itunes library on your harddrive, they are a .m4v fileformat, and i can’t be bothered to do anything beyond that cause the movies they have on itunes are of one-time watch quality… although you can find a few gems if you dig
Looks like they’ve updated the store software to fix the browse movie display
Click Rent, download movie
watch, and enjoy
Oh man, Apple is making a killing off me. I’m renting movies out the wazoo. Just finished Crocodile Dundee now it’s time for Crocodile Dundee II.
If my bike wasn’t just stolen I was planning on getting an Apple TV and doing this from my living room.
Guess I’ll wait a bit longer, but I think it’s killer and hopefully Netflix gives them a run for their money and good competition gives us some better products.
And lol at all the vaio nonsense above.
The only downside is that it takes me 6 hours to download a movie. And some movies you can only buy and not rent. Wut up wit dat?
