Replacing instances in an animation

[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica][SIZE=2]I’ve got an interactive anmation that explains how an underwater vehicle works, using png file that I’ve drawn in Illustrator to show different aspects of the inner workings at different depths in the water as the vehicle moves. We’ve just found out that the drawings are incorrect, and now I’m faced with modifying 7 drawings, exporting them as png files, and then putting them back into Flash and re-animating the whole thing. The animation of it won’t change at all, just the drawings. Is there a way to globally replace instances in an animation so that the new instances take on the animation properties of the old ones? So, if I have Instance A animating over 2 seconds and rotating, can I replace it with Instance B, and have the same keyframes apply to Instance B, so I don’t have to reanimate everything all over again?

Hope this isn’t too confusing!

thanks,
