I’ve been playing around with this design in illustrator and had several pieces until i came up with the design. BUT I forgot how zoomed in I was and now my piece wont scale up due to my use of stroke, the stroke just remains while the vector increases, and I used stroke alone on some aspects such as antennae and in between eyes. How can I fix this (outlines, something)? its now zoomed in and the dimensions are there kinda.
ps this is not complete, i still need to add some shading but i didnt want to invest too much time if it couldn’t be saved.
easy fix, find the scale tool in your tools… or just press “s” on your keyboard, get the tools prompt up(option window) by holding atl and left clicking, now tick Scale Strokes & Effects , with this selected any scale you do to the shape it will increase and decrease your stroke retaining the appearance of your illustration.
best to keep this option ticked, i think once you tick it, it stays ticked.
thanks soulty, it was exaclty what i needed. not all the strokes retained their look but since there were only three that changed when i scaled i was able to just go and change the stroke weight. thanks again.
really not all strokes retained their look? … you sure you ticked that option before you scaled? hmm… anyways if you got it looking right then thats all that matters.
it was great help, i did tick the box before. only the “v” like stroke in the forehead and the two lines comming up from the mandibles below the eyes did not scale, it was not a big problem though
