For the preloader thing, couldn’t you just do it like a normal preloader eg…
bytesLoaded=(_root.getBytesLoaded());
bla bla bla…
except change “_root” to whatever your movieclip is called? So…
bytesLoaded=(zergling.getBytesLoaded());
