Runes Guide

Hi, I was looking at your special effects page and I tried to make the Runes but I got stumped at making the tablet. I get stuck at the part where it tells you to invert the image, when I try that, nothing happens, and when I try it manually, the option is indented out, like its not selectable, anyways I hope someone can help me, and oh I have Adobe Photoshop 6. Thanks
