In the process of building my new site, I’ve encountered an issue using the FlashMX scrollbar component. Hopefully, someone will be able to help me sort this out. I’ll try my best to describe the situation.
I’m creating a rectangular area (semi-transparent) on top of which there is a text area with attached scrollbar component. I then convert the the entire thing to a symbol so that I can create several instances of it (one for each ‘page’ of the site) and have them slide in from the side when their corresponding navigation ‘button’ is clicked. (I want the content for each section to be already loaded as it slides in). Anyway, depending on how I create the symbol and treat it in the tweening process, I either lose the scrollbar component all together or it is not part of the symbol until it ‘lands’. Then, when I trigger the sliding out, the symbol (rectangular background and text area) slide out leaving the scrollbar behind.
I have no idea what is going on. Typically, I prefer to keep working at stuff until I get it - I feel I learn more that way - but I have been stuck on this for days now. It is the only thing keeping me from finishing this thing out and moving on to the rest of my list of stuff that needs to be done in the near future. I have scoured the internet and found only one other person expressing that they were experiencing something like this and no one responded to his post.
Ideas? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
