I need help solving a small problem I am having with scrolling dynamic text inside a movieclip. I followed and combined the two wonderful Kirupa tutorials below. My problem is now that I have to preset the textbox height to hold all the dynamic text (then masking the entire mc) the scroll bar uses the textbox height as it’s reference for how fo it scrolls down.
More specific, the benefit of using dynamic text is that you can update the swf content easily/quickly. However if I start with only 3 lines of text but later want to add 3 more paragraphs, I then have to go back in to my source FLA and adjust the height of the textbox to hold more text. On the flip side, if I preset the textbox height to accomodate future paragraphs of text then the scroller will always scroll through a bunch of empty space at the bottom.
Is there a way to get the scrollbar to recognize the text and scroll/adjust accordingly?
