Scrolling problem

i’m working on a mario excitebike game similar to the original excitebike game. i have encountered some problems with the scrolling. i have a movie clip that scrolls as the player goes and when the mc moves half-way off the screen it resets. i am trying to find a way to make the laps longer but i cant fit them on the flash stage.
