well, cause im total newbie im doing my page in dreamwaver. i didnt know how to do those windows, that would not do a thing but only make better view to the whole page. thats why i decided to do it by adding layers, cause im able to move them wherever i want to. but i gots problems with it. those layers that i made always stick out and u are able to scroll or they are too short and u can see its ending with the difference between colors. id like it to look esthetic thats why i dont want to scroll the page.
i also wanted to change outlines colors of those layers cause i think it would look better.
if u have any suggestions then say it, cause i could use some help, because i dont know exactly if im thinking right.
btw i know ive post this topic in wrong place. sorry, my bad T.t
First: you’re not a newbie becuase you use dreamweaver…
::cough::I.use.it.too::cough::
Secondly: Don’t use layers!
I know they are good to move around any point you want but if You place them exactly where you want … huihhh deja vu… if you place them exactly where you want using resolution “800x600” then others who visit the page using “1024x768” see a total mess.
Try it
Put a picture for a background and move a layer to a certain spot (like on a window if there’s a house on the pic or whatever) then change your resolution and open the page in IE or whatever it is you are testing it with the layer is totally in a different place… so it’s not a good Idea to use layers!!!
yea, i know the trick with resolution, thats why i was selecting size of layers with percents. anyways i see, that layers aint too good idea. thats why id like u to tell me what should i do …
well… ill try to wirte down my vision, and u will help me to create it ^^.
its like id like to have one frame on the top left side that ends about in a center of page and there is some free space. there is another frame on the top but it start from the right side, naturally those both dont touch each other. on the bottom there will be identical one.
there is another frame in the center, but it doesnt touch anything (this will be the menu), neither top nor bottom and even left or right side of the screen.
You can go to “frames” and add a few frames there by clicking the buttons and after that you can drag the edges of the html page to add frames yourself.
