I’m in the development stage of a website that I foresee growing rapidly due to partnerships with established organizations and colleges and universities.
What I would like to know is if anyone has knowledge of a shared calendar application that I could have on my server that would grant a user access to “subscribe” to a college’s or organization’s on-site calendar.
For example let’s say that there is a school called Kirupa University. They’ve signed up and created a university profile that details tuition, enrollment, degrees offered and all the typical school information. Kirupa University, through the “Shared Calendar” feature can upload admissions deadlines, dates for sporting events, and student activities.
Also Kirupa Kids, a non profit organization for kids still on dial up, signs up for the site. They have a profile that shows the national headquarters and the national leaderhip. They also have individual pages for each of their centers in cities all over the US showing the local leadership in each of these places. National and individual cities would be able to have a calendar and upload events and important dates as well.
What I would like to do is have the average user, Joe Schmoo, be able to sign up and have a calendar of their own where they could add events and appointments (recurring and other). I’d like Joe to also be able to subscribe to Kirupa University’s calendar and have them display on his calendar in red. He could also subscribe to Kirupa Kids Atlanta Calendar and have those display on his calendar blue.
Does anyone know of software that I could install on my server that would allow me to accomplish this?
