I’ve searched the forums and couldn’t find the answer I was hoping to find; the problem is I want to implement a drop-down menu that looks like the one found on mediatemple.com. I do not wish to plagarise, of course, I just think the XP-esque theme is very professional and attractive. However, I do not wish to use Flash to achieve this, just either DHTML or JavaScript.
So firstly, before I go and try it myself, is there (are there) any freeware menus like the ones I am looking for?
If not, then some advice as to how to get started would be nice. I have no knowledge in DHTML or JS, and I hear that DOM is can be a pretty nasty thing to deal with to achieve this effect, so books, articles, personal experiences, etc would be much appreciated.
Oh, and the reason for not choosing to use Flash is because I want this sleek menu to drop down over the top of HTML content. I’ve seen this style menu implemented elsewhere, but nowhere besides MediaTemple off the top of my head.
I don’t really HAVE to do this, its not for a client or anything like that, but I really want to learn this more for myself.
