Hello, first post here.
I hope this isn’t one of those silly “how long is a piece of string…” kind of questions…
I’ve just made a flash website for a friend by using a free template and working from there. All the work is done and the site looks and behaves how it should. But then we get to the thorny issue of getting it to show on the web.
Testing the site once uploaded shows it working fine on my Mac on the following browsers: Safari, FireFox, Opera, iCab, Camino, OmniWeb, Shiira and Sunrise. Explorer didn’t work but I assumed that might be because the Mac version is so out of date. Testing on a PC and it works fine in FireFox… but then we get to Explorer. Worked on two out of four machines tested, doesn’t load on the other two.
So the question is, is this common and is there a particular aspect I should be looking at for this kind of problem? I hear a lot of people moaning about Explorer so I assume it can be a pain on a regular basis.
I used SWFObject 2 generator to do whatever it does before uploading… and from that comment you’ll probably be able to tell that I’m a beginner and have not a clue where I’ve tripped up!
If it helps here’s the site
It’s very annoying because it works perfectly in the other browsers. But, of course, that’s not much use if it doesn’t work in the most popular.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.
Cheers
Karl
