Wired’s review says Della’s Optima TP Series mini-split is a pretty cheap way to get ductless AC with app.
Cheap mini-splits give me the same vibe as buying a no-name “elite” controller off Amazon. The actual hardware might be perfectly serviceable, but the “smart” layer is where the RNG hits—disconnects, weird permissions, busted UI, and then one day the app just stops getting updates. If I bought one, I’d go in expecting to run it like it’s 2006 with the remote and be totally fine with that. If the app stays working, cool bonus, but I wouldn’t make it part of the plan.
Lol yeah
