Sound fx and flash. how?

I know how to use sound in flash, but I guess my question is what is the best way to create your own sound fx. I need the sound of a page being turned after much searching,nothing…Now I think I am going to just record my own and use it. But how is this done? I know there is a way to use a feature built into windows to record sound, but is there another way? Like a program that will let me record my sound fx and save it as a mp3 for use? Any input greatly appreciated.
