Sound off on popup?

  • i have page1 with an “enter” button which popup page2 in
    Chromless.

  • page2 has a background music with an on/off button.
    (when poped, the music starts on page2)

now,
i want to add a sound to page1.
but i want this sound to be turned off when the visitor click on enter to launch page2.
(so that he will only hear the music of page2.)

can this be done !!!

(all pages are .SWF, no HTML or JS)

first of… it’s better to have NO flash or music on your entry page.

that’s the page where you check if people have the plugin and can actually see your site.

anyway… you can try this on the button at page one…

on (release) {
stopAllSounds();
}

yu are right. i changed my mind now.

but since you mentioned that, stopallsounds will also stop the background music when the page2 poped up, no?

good you changed your mind:)…

about the stopAllsounds… it would stop the sounds that are playing at that moment…
but since there was gonna be a new sound starting on your second page it would have had no effect on that one.

anyway there are a few ways to play soundfiles in flash…
I usualy put my sounds in separate swf’s that I load with loadMovie command… unloadMovie to stop the sound;)
