Sound tutorial doesn't appear to be preloading

Hi,

I just tried this code from this url and it didn’t preload my sound:

http://www.kirupa.com/developer/as3/playing_sounds.htm

is there more to it that I need to know?

here is the link to the project. You can see that the sound takes several seconds, but the animation already plays:
