Hello all: I have recently made the Great Leap from good old Flash 8 to Flash 10 (CS4, AS3 and the goodies: AS3 is a MINEFIELD for me :trout: !). I apologise if this is an ‘old hat’ question, but I have a website which starts with a splash movie: the movie may run to the end, when it stops, closes, and points to the home page. Alternatively, for those who tire of the movie the second time around (or even the first), there is a button which allows the viewer to skip the intro and go directly to the home page. At least, that’s what it did in Flash 8. Now with the entire website retooled for CS4, although I’ve kind of got my head around the AS3 coding for both the button action and the sending action in the splash, it remains obstinately loaded in place so that the home page (an html page with Flash ‘bits’) opens in a new window. I would like the splash movie to close completely as before, and the home page to open in its place. I have searched high and low, finding all sorts of exciting goodies, but I can’t find anything which fits this particular problem. There were interesting comments on the ‘Loader.unloadAndStop’ , but as I never physically loaded the splash movie, I don’t suppose I can use that … I tried anyway … no go. It is driving me bonkers. All help would be greatly appreciated.
