I’ve just discovered that SQL 2005 database I’ve been working on won’t work on my hosts server cause they use SQL 2000.
To be honest I’ve been testing as I go and I’m happy with the stage I was at. To change the site and database to use SQL 2000 rather than 2005 could put my whole project back a month. Obviously as I was at testing stage I don’t want to go back a month. So I had an idea that I need to run past people in the know first.
Now this slip aside my hosting company are very reliable and I’m not overly keen on switching my hosting. But what if I took an account with another host that used SQL 2005 and had the database on there and the site on my other hosting account?
Aside from the extra cost this could be a real lifesaver.
But have I missed anything? Extra security fears? Anything else? Anyone any experience of this? Anyone you’d recommend?
