Stabilizing a Movie Clip

Greetings All!

This has probably been addressed in previous tuts or forum discussions, but I’m unable to FIND the solution. I’m attaching an example of my menu. The numbers are buttons that open individual dropdown text boxes. Each box is a separate movie clip.

Here’s what I’ve got going: Each button has an “on release” telling Flash to goto a single frame containing each unique movie clip. Each of these frames contains a STOP action. Hit the button, the drop-down box reveals itself, along with it’s text. That works fine. BUT, if you hit the same button AGAIN, it’ll play the next button’s content. Wacky. How do I force Flash to play only the intended movie clip??? I suspect I also need to do some unloading along the way to remove underlying clip residue before the new clip begins???

These menus are all being loaded into a blank movie clip, housed within my index file … per Kirupa’s Full Flash Site tutorial.

Thanks for any help!

Jeff
