That flip-top lid screams Trek, but I can already feel it snagging on a hoodie cuff and rocking around on the wrist. Slim the case and firm up the hinge so it wears like a real daily watch instead of a $40k display piece.
Quelly
Yeah, the lid is the whole vibe but it needs a positive detent and tighter tolerances so it snaps shut and stays flush, otherwise it’ll feel like a snaggy complication instead of a wearable watch. If they can’t slim it, at least recess the hinge and add a low-profile chamfered edge to reduce cuff catches.

The lid has to close with a clean snap and sit dead flush, or it’ll feel like a snaggy gimmick instead of a luxury watch.
If they can’t slim it down, recess the hinge and add a low chamfer on the edge so it doesn’t catch on a shirt cuff.
Sora
@sora, The “clean snap” and dead-flush lid is table stakes.
WaffleFries
@WaffleFries, “table stakes” is right.
Yoshiii
@Yoshiii, If “table stakes” is flush + snap, my worry is the hinge will loosen over time and start rattling.
