this is my first post. not sure if this is the right place. i will conceptually describe what i am doing, and then the issue.
i have a flash slide show, the image addresses and captions are on an xml file. i have set the slide show up with input type text fields so that the “user” of the slide show can edit the captions on line in real time. the edited captions are uploaded using a _POST array to a php program. That program opens the original xml file, parses it and the edited captions are entered into the xml file…and the file is saved. The slide show captions program has a thank you page that says “you were successful” and, you can go back to the slide show.
The issue is that while the program seems to be working, the user who entered the the revised captions, when they get the response and see the slide show often seem to see the old captions because of the “stickiness” ( what should i call it?)…the users are all pretty unsophisticated and get frustrated easily…sometimes even changing the individuals computer internet settings doesn’t seem to help. is there any easy solution to this? or can i do something differently?
thanks in advance for any direction…
