Strange But Cool Tweening

Can anyone tell me/explain how this effect is done.
It looks like the navigational buttons when rolled over with the mouse looks like BITMAPS are tweening to make the look of a “plasma” effect.

Check out the top navigation and let me know. Also when you click on the navigation how is the “Grid Effect” happening to the photos?

By gird effect do you mean those slanted lines? Probably just applied in a regular graphics app.

As for the buttons, just looks like shape tween with nice use of colours, nothing overly fancy or difficult.
