Swedish Freelance Designer Patrik Sjerén from Subcontrast has now launched a new Freelance board at www.eulance.com. EU Lance is open exclusively for designers, programmers and other IT professionals in the European Union who needs to find Buyers in the same territory. “I decided to start a new freelance auction board because the current ones are not working so well. It’s hard to compete with the prices of designers and programmers from countries with low tax rates such as India, Romania and Russia.” Patrik says.
Strict rules and very selective.
EULance will, in comparison to the existent Freelance sites, have very strict rules that need to be followed or it might end up in disclosure of a Freelancers account. As an example, Freelancers who promise a buyer a result in 3 weeks time and haven’t showed any results after two months might be suspended after warnings. “This is one of the many problems facing the existing Freelance sites today. I have projects that currently are on almost a year long delay because people promise a lot and never delivers” says Patrik. “And it’s not only me who’s having this sort of problem” he continues. “I have talked with numerous buyers on those sites who have had the exact same problems as me so it’s just not that I am followed by bad luck”.
The guys behind EULance also reserve the right to reject people who signs up for an account. “We are not doing this to be mean to anyone. We are doing this because we want to be taken more serious than the other sites out there. In order to keep high quality work from highly skilled IT Professionals, we can not afford to deal with people who are not serious about their work. Should a Freelancer not be approved doesn’t mean all ships have sailed, they just need to practise more and improve their skills and then they are free to apply again.” says Patrik.
Another problem the existent sites are having today is people trying to make quick money on things they haven’t created themselves nor have the copyright for. “You would be surprised how many dodgy people I have come across over the past years. There are the people who illegally download templates from sites like Template Monster and then try to make money out of it. I have even come across people who tried to sell me commercial solutions that they had not created in the first place and that to a higher price than the original code.” says Patrik.
“Then there are the people who claim to be working for and are giving the portfolios to Companies that they have no association with”. I feel sorry for the buyers out there who need to fight this every day. Knowing who to trust is not easy when you have never met them face to face. At EULance we are hoping to minimize this sort of bad behaviour in our selection process and will be working hard to be the most trustworthy Freelance Auction Site available today” Patrik continues.
With all this said, EULance are now welcoming talented Freelancers to sign up for an account and are at the same time inviting service buyers to add their projects in order to get instant help from some of the most skilled Freelancers available in Europe today!!!
