Swf in visual basic

Hi
I need some help with controlling a swf pulled into vb.
How can I get flash to transmit something that a vb controller can interperut.

I am doing the flash and the programmer is doing the VB. Neither of us quite understand how to phrase this question so that is the best I can come up with.
