Hi guys. I want to convert a flash swf to an exe, I can’t use the built in flash exe publisher as this is for the company I work for, and so I need to get rid of all branding/anything that points to the fact that it was made in flash. I’ve looked at screenswift and a few others, but they all seem to be $200+, does anybody know of a decent, low cost swf to exe program?
Um… Why would you want that?
So our customers can have my flash app on their desktop without having to have flash player installed. There are quite a few programs that do it, but most of what I’ve seen have it as part of a larger set of flash tools which I don’t need.
Well flash can do it- try doing that, and opening up resHacker and switching the flash icon and title to your own.
Edit: Ok, I’ve done the hard part for you- to change the title, go to “1” under “String Table”, those are the titles for various languages. Make your change, press compile script and save.
Edit #2: And to remove any trace of flash, go to Menu/604 and delete everything under
popup"x"
{
and above the next “}”, press compile script and save to remove the right click menu.
Edit #3: Actually, you could leave the last entry (MENUITEM “&About Macromedia Flash Player 7…”, 20044), switch it with “About (your program name)”, and then edit dialogue/401/1033 to show info about it.

Thanks alot Dunga, that all worked like a charm! No need to spend any money at all now, cheers

Glad I could help :beam: I’m working on a little tutorial on it myself, with directions for editing bits and pieces of projector files.
Or you could just visit bomber studios since they’ve already done it…
Meh, true, but I’d already started it before I saw your post, but I might as well continue.
wow that works great, but cant figure out how to set the default swf for that thingy.
