Swf video background

hello guys. i have a problem. I’d like to put an swf video background in flash with menus on top of it, just like the ones you see on dvd. but i dont want to put the video directly into it because the file would become large, so i use the loadmovie command, but when i publish it, all i see is the video, the menu that was on top of it is gone. later i figured that everytime we load a movie, it replaces the whole scene, am i right? so should the menu be a loaded swf movie so it can be on a different level than the background? is that possible? or does anyone know the ‘right way’ to do it? thanks

No, you are actually loading it (or supposed to load it) into a movie clip (in this case) below the menu. I advise not loading that movie seperately, because then the veiwers will see a white screen untill it does load NOT COOL! so I advise making it part of the movie

hello… thanks for the reply.
this is intended for cd, not for the web, so i thought it would load much faster if the video file is separated. is it possible to load swf onto the backround with menus on top of it? anyway, how can i make the video on the background to loop while the menu on top of it doesn’t?. oh yeah i did load it into a movie clip below the menu, but what i get is the opposite.

okay, what if i made the menu separately as a swf file with all the buttons and links, and then loadmovie it into the higher level, would that be effective?

If its going to be on a CD does loading time matter that much? Just make it one file but optimize it, and make sure the clip is short.
