Swf's transparent on mac

I’m trying to stay as cross platform as possible with my site, but can’t get the background transparent in i.e. on my imac, is there a tag for transparent like the color tags, #FFFFF,
also I once found a tut on how to publish with out the flash border, but can’t find it again.

thanx 4 any help

thanx for reply kax,
but that wont work on a mac,
worx fine on pc, which is great for 90%, but I need cross platform,
If there is no fix, then I’ll ave to do a bit of head scratching.

swift.:toad:

thanx 4 your reply I think?

Its a client job, that requires the site to look the same crossplatform, not a personal preference and please tone down your responces all the admin will here about it.

swift.:egg:

lets keep our preferences to ourselves shall we…

I have seen macs… they used to be crap… but now they are quite good. I would still go with a PC but thats personal preference. Anyways… I have no idea how to solve your problem swift… very sorry

nah i under stand i am deleting it now i just never liked Mac it causes so many problems can result in a whole lot of headaches sometimes things work beautifal in xp but never work on mac i remember trying to make a flash for my teach as a class project and the only computers they had were imacs he tryed playing it and it crashed his computer. He gave me a F because of that. i am still pissed at macs for that certian reason. Flash and Macs are like mixing Pitbulls and shi-tzus.

no problem, thanx 4 trying 2 help, I’m an avid pc fan 2, but most clients get on your case about crossplatform this, crossplatform that, what can you do.

laterz,

swift:bandit:

yeah you got a point.

well that technique on above link does work for mac OSX …

How stuck are you for having the lowest content show thru on an HTML page ?

couldn’t you just ‘emulate’ html stuff on level 0 and have your flashy stuff load above that (levels 1++) … loaded swf’s have NO background and would work all arround …

thanx 4 reply,

Yeah that’s close to what I actually did, as much as I love flash, I wish they would tackle some of the small bugs, and make the publisher a bit more robust.

Ended up putting the swf into an html page in dreamweaver and porting it out that way.

I don’t know about the OSX answer, my mac test-bed is running OSX and the trans-background still doesn’t work.

thanx again.
