Talk to external swf's

Hey. I’ve gone through the tutorial to load external swf’s into my main movie. This works perfectly. However now I’d like to be able to talk to my external swf’s from my main movie. For example. I have menu.swf loaded into my main movie. I have a button in my main movie. When that button is clicked I want it to tell the menu.swf to go to a certain frame and play. Is this possible? Thanks so much for any help you can give me.
