Yes, it’s a long title, but it’s exactly what I’m trying to do.
I have a scrollpane, and the content within this scrollpane has buttons. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to target the path to a specific timeline from these buttons.
Let me try to explain the concept I’m trying to achieve:
I have a movieclip and within this clip is scrollpane that includes thumbnails from movie files (I work in commercial music, so in this case it’s my demoreel I’m showcasing). Each of these thumbnails have been converted into buttons. The objective here is that when you onRollOver each thumbnail, text giving info/description of the clip will be shown, which is stored in a completely separate timeline, outside of the scrollpane, and outside of the movieclip that contains said scrollpane.
I hope I’m being clear. It’s confusing to even try and explain it.
And I’ve never ever gotten any results from using _root or _parent from within the scrollpane’s content. I’m confused too because the content of the scrollpane lives within the library, and no where else since you’re just linking to it in the scrollpane.
