Targetting Timelines?

I was currently making my site. And i have a problem in comunicating between timelines, example If i click a button in a mivie clip i want it to access another timeline of a movie clip since i think i cant use _root. Pls. help thanksAnd another can flash can create an external file! Thanks alot hoping for your respond!
