Terminology Help: Slider and Scrollbar?

Hello!

I am looking to do two things. I need the terminology for these, because nothing is coming up when I search:

  1. I have a dynamic text field to put information into. I want a scrollbar to appear when too much text is added. (I dont trust the user to just “know” to go up with the arrow key)

  2. I want a scrollbar across the bottom. As the .swf plays, it will progress with the a middle “button” or whatever moving along. I would be able to hit pause or play with a play and pause button with the scrollbar, and restart it from any point I want by dragging the button. I’m not sure if this is what it is called? (because nothing comes up when I google/yahoo/search/whatever and I am sure there must be a tutorial on something basic like this)

I have googled these terms using slider/scrollbar, but all I can find is a basic one for just viewing static text. What terminology am I missing that I should be searching? (I’ve also searched on yahoo and a few forums, nothing is coming up)
