what is the proper way to limit your animation to the stage dimensions? I export it and the animation exceeds the stage limits. Please help, this problem is making me frustrated and I can’t find help anywhere.
what do you mean?
when I export my animation, it’s like there’s no boundary for how large the animation is. All things exceed the normal 550x400 dimensions.
if you move them there … yeah
but let’s say you have a circle, and you tween it so that you have an effect that makes it look like you’re zooming in on it, once you get “really close” to it, a large portion of the circle is outside the stage. So how would I prevent or change that?
if its off the stage then its not within the visible area of the movie and not to be worried about
that’s why it’s a problem, because it IS visible when I publish it as swf.
it is in Flash if you have your swf maximized, but it wont be in HTML or a projector
here’s what I have done…file>export movie>as swf>upload to my site>insert embed code>view
still not working.
Sounds like you dont know the Flash interface yet.
First, don’t PM me to answer a question. My in box is not a forum (stole that from lost).
Second, in your publish settings, set the scale to exact fit. that should take care of your problem.

Gee, thanks a lot, but still NO help.
sorry, rev. Apparently, I’m new at this and that makes me stupid. That helps a lot. I appreciate it.
no problem. I get a lot of these, so be glad you got the public version of my response.
Did that fix it?
if so, wahoooooooo!

When did you get Flash? I think you just dont understand how to use it yet! This sounds like a simple problem… Check your Flash MX manuel, it has some tutorials in it I think (I have Studio MX and the manuel has tutorials, the Flash one does too i think) Hope it helps. I think I probably just dont understand your question.
-Mike :sigh:
This is the only place I’ve gotten an answer. I tried the Flash MX tutorials, help, kirupa, etc. and had not had any help. Just in case you want to know, I got Flash 2 weeks ago.
2 weeks ago! NEAT! Dont ya just love it! Still, check your manuel’s tutorials.
thanks rev, it worked perfectly.
glad to help
btw - that is a carry over from AfterShock (we used to have to publish in Aftershock to get the .swf to the web)…
